Somebody to love (the Queen version)
What a game! Before I start with the praise madness let me introduce you to Order and Chaos.
When OaC came to the OUYA it was like a bomb. The ripples of the tear in the time and space continuum could be felt through the entire galaxy.
Reddit went Bananas that a MMORPG of that good quality came to the OUYA. Me? I was of course Mr. Cool. Until I played the first few minutes.
Order and Chaos is … well … almost World of Warcraft in every aspect, with a few adjustments. The setting, graphics and races are almost identical but honestly…. who cares?
You have 5 basic races consisting of Humans, Elves (gay), Mendels (little Chihuahuas), Orcs and Undead. Additionally you can choose between 4 classes that are Warrior, Mage, Monk and Ranger. So pretty much the standard. But don’t get me wrong this game is far from standard as far as fun is concerned.
It is the first MMORPG I have ever played with a controller and it handles much, much better than I would have thought it would. You don’t have to think about which buttons to press, you just do it, but of course in the beginning it takes some getting used to it.
The world is vast and colorful and if you’ve ever played a MMORPG you will feel right at home. It is that good.
However, let me give you a tip before you start OaC. Prepare for some torture while signing up for an account from the OUYA. Using the touch pad to navigate between the fields is terrible. But maybe you could use the D-Pad, stupid little me didn’t try that.
Conclusion
So what else can I say than, this is one of the best games on the OUYA. We’ve even started a Let’s Play series that you can see below.
In any case, if you like MMORPGs and want to play one on the OUYA this is your game. Just try it out; it’s free except from in-app purchases that aren’t really necessary unless you want the coolest mounts money can buy you.
The only points I had to subtract are those for originality since it isn’t exactly a new concept. Very well executed, though.
