Leisure Suit Larry is coming back

Larry Laffer is 'doing it' again!

Larry Laffer is back! Not for the OUYA! Thx Replay Games! :(

The weirdest, most fucked up and at the same time most loveable, loser is on his way back into our living rooms. However, don’t let him get too comfortable, he’ll come on/at you way too strong.

Larry Laffer (aka. Leisure Suit Larry) used to be an icon in the late 80s till early 90s. He was the ‘hero’ of an adventure game. His ultimate goal was to, and here comes the fun part, GET LAID!

The humor of the series is until today unparalleled and has had an impact on entire generation of computer gamers. Even today only one character has beaten him as the top perv video character all time (Source)

Al Lowe, the creator of the original Larry Laffer titles, ran a campaign on Kickstarter during Feb – March 2012 and seems to be on the homestretch to releasing the first original Larry Laffer episode as a remodeled/reloaded version.

If you’ve never had contact with Leisure Suit Larry watch the Kickstarter video below. I promise you, you will be wishing Larry came to your home today. If you don’t …. you’re dead to me.

YOU HEAR ME? DEAD!

Conclusion

To finish this off in a less passive-aggressive way let’s just say I doubt that Larry Laffer will have as big as a cultural impact as he used to have. However, for everyone who played all of the old titles for ummm … the story… you will enjoy this reloaded version.

I’m not quite so sure about the $20 pricing for the digital copy. If there’s no other game I’m playing when Leisure Suit Larry is published I might actually give it a go.

P.S. why the hell did I use the word ‘come’ so frequently in this review? Must be a coincidence…

Tim feels that with the development of the OUYA and the stronger focus on indie game studios is the right step towards better gaming experiences that rely more heavily on unique game concepts and better gameplay in general.
